Community Guidelines

Rules for respectful, safe, and real-world community behavior on Meshup.

Version 1.0 · Last updated: 2026-05-05 · Effective date: 2026-05-05

1. Purpose

Meshup is built for real, respectful connections through shared interests, communities, events, and meetups. These guidelines explain what is allowed and what is not. If you violate them, we may remove content, restrict features, limit visibility, suspend your account, or ban your account.

2. Not a dating app

Important

Meshup is not a dating app. Please do not use Meshup to solicit romantic or sexual relationships, send unwanted flirtatious messages, pressure people for personal contact details, or post “looking for girlfriend/boyfriend” content. That kind of content may be removed and repeated behavior may lead to account restrictions.

3. Be respectful

  1. No harassment, bullying, intimidation, stalking, or targeted hostility.
  2. No hate or discrimination based on protected characteristics.
  3. No threats, glorification of violence, or encouragement of violence.
  4. No unwanted sexual content, sexual solicitation, or persistent unwanted contact.
  5. Respect boundaries. If someone says “no” or asks you to stop, you must stop.

4. Keep it safe

  1. No scams, fraud, impersonation, deceptive activity, or misleading content.
  2. No sharing private personal information, yours or others, without permission.
  3. No content or behavior that exploits, sexualizes, grooms, or endangers minors. We apply zero tolerance here.
  4. No coercion, blackmail, manipulation, or pressure, including pressure for contact details, money, photos, or favors.
  5. No behavior that creates real-world safety risks for other users.

5. Meetups and events

  1. Be clear and honest about event details, including time, place, cost, host, requirements, and what to expect.
  2. Do not create events to lure, intimidate, deceive, exploit, or target people.
  3. Do not promote illegal activity, dangerous activity, or harmful behavior.
  4. Hosts are responsible for describing events accurately and following applicable laws, venue rules, permits, and safety requirements.
  5. Participants are responsible for deciding whether an event, location, activity, host, or attendee feels safe and appropriate for them.

6. Meetup safety tips

Before meeting someone offline
  1. Meet in public places first, such as coffee shops, parks, or busy venues.
  2. Tell a friend where you are going and when you expect to be back.
  3. Do not share sensitive information too early, such as your home address, IDs, banking details, or daily routine.
  4. Trust your judgment and leave if you feel uncomfortable.
  5. In an emergency, contact local emergency services first.

7. Content standards

  1. No explicit sexual content, pornography, sexual exploitation, or sexualized content involving minors.
  2. No graphic violence, gore, or content intended to shock, threaten, or intimidate.
  3. No instructions, coordination, or guidance for wrongdoing, fraud, abuse, or illegal activity.
  4. No spam, repetitive posting, scraping, fake engagement, or engagement manipulation.
  5. No content that infringes intellectual property, privacy, publicity, or confidentiality rights.

8. Reporting, blocking, and enforcement

If you see something that violates these rules, please report it in-app where available or email support@meshup.social. If someone is bothering you, block them and stop engaging.

  1. We may remove content that violates these guidelines.
  2. We may restrict features such as posting, messaging, event creation, or visibility for safety.
  3. We may suspend or ban accounts for serious or repeated violations.
  4. We may preserve records where needed for safety, legal, fraud-prevention, or enforcement reasons.
  5. Where required by law or platform rules, we may provide additional notice or appeal options.

9. App store safety standards

Meshup supports user-generated content and real-life meetups. We are committed to keeping the platform safer through clear rules, reporting channels, blocking tools, moderation, and enforcement. These guidelines work together with our Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, Safety Tips, and Child Safety Standards.
